WHEN YOU NEED A RIDE
Call 781-861-9300 only between the hours of 9:00 am and 1:00 pm two FISH operating days before your appointment date.
Leave the following information with the answering service:
- your name
- address
- phone number
- pick-up time
- appointment time
- destination
- time of return
- possible delay Are you having a procedure that might result in a delay, such as cataract surgery?
- any special conditions. For example, do you use a wheelchair or have other ambulatory concerns? Will you be bringing a companion?
A FISH driver will call you to confirm the arrangements, or a FISH phoner will call you to let you know that no FISH driver is available to drive you to this appointment.
If you are unable to secure a ride from FISH, call Lexington Transportation services at 781–861–1210 to hear about alternatives.
If you need to cancel a ride, notify your FISH driver.
POLICIES
You may schedule one ride per week.
Rides are free. Clients are responsible for any parking fees or tolls. We are always grateful for donations.
Clients must be able to get in and out of a vehicle without the driver's assistance.

For a ride, call FISH before 1:00pm, two operating days before your medical appointment. When FISH is closed, no rides are available and no appointments can be made. FISH is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, holidays, and Fridays in June, July, and August. To determine the day you need to call FISH, count back two days from your appointment on the calendar, skipping closed days.
For example: If you need a ride on a Wednesday, call before 1:00pm on Monday. (If that Monday is a holiday, call on Friday.)
If you need a ride on Monday in June, July or August, call on the previous Wednesday.
